Rehoboth Ale House sucked us in 5 summers ago with good drink specials, and it has become a mainstay in our Rehoboth tradition. They really know how to do it. Every night they have something going on and a good drink special advertised on the chalk board out front, and I'm not just referring to happy hour specials (they have those as well.) Always a good selection of brews on tap. This year we went on a Monday night and participated in music trivia. This is not the buzztime trivia, no this is old fashioned dude with a microphone, make up your own team name, laugh with the entire bar trivia. Lots of fun and the winners (not us this time) got free shots. The special was $5 martinis. It may not be the young hip place the kids are hanging out at, but it's reliably good drinks, good deals, and an unpretentious good time at the beach.

Good drink specials. We had the blood orange margaritas and they were excellent! Also had a beer flight! At the end of happy hour we had quite a buzz!! Will return for more happy hours in the future!

Really loved the waffle chicken with berry reduction sauce! The crab Mac & cheese was also delicious (more like an Alfredo sauce)! Fish tacos were skimpy (just a few pieces of deep fried fish). Our waiter was great....patient (w/my kids), helpful & knowledgeable of both the food & the beer. Gotta ask for Matt!

(08/08/2013) For as local as you can get in a beach town that specializes in tourists. Rehoboth Ale House is one of the more local and "lower rent" kind of bars a little off the beaten path on Wilmington. Service is attention enough, if a little frazzled, but friendly. Food is OK, not great. Had the "Belly Buster Po' Boy" (fried haddock on a large, fluffy Italian roll); batter was beer-based and substantial, but smooth and crunchy, fish was overcooked to dry and flaky tough; topped with a housemade, crispy, sweet coleslaw (zipped everything up with some Texas Pete and the lime off my shot of Jameson, really, lime with a Jameson??). Had a great drink special of the night: "True Moon" (Blue Moon, Blueberry Stoli, fresh blueberries). Football pre-season was on and playing to an exuberant and vociferous crowd. It was open-mike night, cheers to those brave souls who put themselves out there, even if they are a little uneven. Place is for sure rainbow-friendly, not that there's anything wrong with that.

local brews at 9:00 a.m.?! are you KIDDING ME WITH THIS!? i love it. came here for breakfast one saturday this summer. the place was empty so we sat right down and the server came over. she told us that they actually had happy hour specials on beer -- at 9:00 a.m.! i wanted to hug her. so i had a plate of eggs and toast and a pint. omg what a yummy pint it was. prices are pretty cheap by rehoboth standards. this place is nothing fancy, but they get props for letting me drink right after i brushed my teeth.

I don't like this place. I wanted to love this place - because they had some decent sounding live music. But apparently there are lots of spots at the bar, where the counter isn't full of crap, that you cannot sit and lots of places you can sit, but are so full of crap you wouldn't be able to sit down your drink. And when you are confused about this, the bartender eye rolls you. Blerg...

After being unable to find a restaurant with a reasonable wait time on the main strip on a Friday night, our party of twelve walked a few blocks down and straight to a couple table in the Rehoboth Ale House. This is a loud, dark, rocking beer joint. There is a stage for live music, and there was a woman regaling the crowd with karaoke the night we were there ($7 entertainment charge for the table.) There is a long beer list for even the most discerning aficionado, although the staff's familiarity with them seems rather hit and miss. We ordered some boneless wings that came with a very garlicky buffalo sauce. Amazing taste, if a little over the top, which makes them a great go-with for lots of beer. The service was friendly and the large staff was constantly by to check on us. This ain't a place for the kids, but a fun place to go without pretention.

Came here without expecting anything and it was opened during lunch hours. The crab quesadillas was really good and the crab louis salad was literally crab on a salad. So don't order the salad. The drinks were pretty strong as well...

Every time we come to the beach this is where we eat. The crab jalapeño poppers are where its at! Also love the Sante fe salad! We went this year fourth of july weekend and we were always taken great care of by our main man, Clarke! This place is a real treat and makes you feel right at home!

After our failed attempt to actually get food at the nearby Robin Hood Restaurant, my friend and I went here. Once again, took forever to get food, and when it came to our table it was barely warm. Since my Mom was a waitress for decades, I know this is a sign of the waitress not picking up her orders. Finally, 35 minutes later, with headaches from low blood sugar, our meals arrive. Mine was a pasta dish with sundried tomatoes. Good, not great. Friend ordered a dish combining chicken and crab with Imperial sauce on the side. Came with mashed potatoes and rice pilaf. It was inedible but for the potatoes, and that only because she was starving by this point. Chicken totally dry. Crab unidentifiable as anything--she actually thought it was rice. I told the waitress the meal was horrible, and the manager came over. She clearly had a confrontational attitude from the get-go. "What's wrong with the meal? This is our best seller." etc. As if my friend were making it up, though it was clear the plate was nearly as full as it had come out. No apology. At this point it was way too late at night to wait for something else which I am not even certain the manager offered. She gave us 50% off friend's meal. So crappy service, bad food. Won't be going there again unless all I want is beer, which apparently this place can actually produce.

Went here for dinner on a whim. Food was fine, standard bar fare at the beach, friendly staff. There were a few vegetarian options on the menu. Worst part of my meal was the the late ninties hard rock cover band that started twenty minutes after we sat down.

    1. I placed a take-out order and it took them 30 minutes at 6:30 PM to complete their order. 2. I ordered fish tacos and they gave me fish & chips! 3. Food is little over priced and tasted below average 4. Average customer service Bad experience!!

Good food and great staff... Menu is limited but that could be due to off season. Beer selection is broad and they have many local beers on tap. Bartender was a sweetheart and the atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. Great place to have a few drinks and chill.

This was on its way to being one of our new favorites then they threw us out for a pvt party. After spending several hundred dollars. No more.

Do you wanna... ...good beer? ...good beer from any country? ...spicy, hot, yummy buffalo wings? ...try shots that no other bar can make? ...try shots you never tried? Oh my god, if you said "yes" to any of these AND you are planning a trip to the beach, you HAVE TO GO HERE! We were offered all of the above for really cheap (b/c we were the first ones there), and the bartender (Will) makes the most awesomiest drinks! And the chef (John) makes the best wings with the greatest "bee sting" wing sauce. So when you get there, make sure to .... (1) Ask for either the bubble gum, skittle, and/or kryptonite shots (only Will makes the last two). (2) Get "bee sting" buffalo wings. (3) Try to get there before 5pm when no one is there. You get better deals. These people are awesome and I want to promote them. Really nice, friendly bar. Seriously, I'm not an alcohol fan, but ever since I tried their shots, they made me an alcoholic! Soooooo gooood! And tell them, an asian girl who took those shots from Rockville sent ya! Have fun guys!

Decided to try this place for lunch. Although I will admit their beer selection is quite extensive, the food was well under par. For starters we ordered the nachos which were covered in cheese whiz and a wad of lettuce that looked like it was pegged for a sandwhich off to the side of the plate. Awful! The meal was average at best. The service was not so great and the place was almost empty. To top off the experience, our bill came with extra charge for cheese on the "Cheese Steak" and another sandwhich that, according to the menu, included cheese.

Widest beer selection I've seen in Rehoboth Beach. Bartender was very knowledgeable of the beer.

Looking forward to trying this place. Really enjoyed the previous tenants Rams Head. Sports bar atmosphere was ok, bartender was really good. Happy hour pricing was nice. I only went once so need to go back 2 more times for full review.
